7 Signs That The Body Warns You That You Are Under Stress!
Nutritionist Charlotte Watts in her book “The De-Stress Effect: Rebalance Your Body’s Systems for Vibrant Health and Happiness” reveals seven signs which indicate that your body is under stress and how to compensate.
1. Cracked lips
This condition occurs because of a lack of vitamin B, particularly vitamin B6. Vitamin B is important for the health of the nerve system, and to make energy from carbohydrates, fats and proteins from food.
Vitamin B is found in carrots, chicken, eggs, fish, meat, peas, spinach, sunflower seeds, avocados, bananas, potatoes, broccoli, cabbage and corn.
2. Jaw grinding or bruxism
The reason for this is lack of vitamin B5 which is often called the anti-stress vitamin because it helps in the production of adrenal hormones and cholesterol. Long term stress is expressed through jaw grinding, partly because during stress more facial muscles cramp up.
It is recommended to consume beef, eggs, fresh vegetables, mushrooms, fish, liver, nuts.
3. White spots on nails
Although white spots on the nails are often associated with calcium deficiency, in fact they are an indicator of zinc deficiency in the body. Zinc is important for immunity and the production of hormones, including sex hormones and insulin.
Zinc is found in fish, meat, sunflower seeds, nuts, seafood.
4. Constipation and diarrhea
This happens due to lack of magnesium, an essential mineral for the whole organism widely consumed when you are under stress and when you eat foods with sugars. Relaxation of muscle and brain after stress depends on magnesium.
Consume these foods: walnuts, soybeans, dark green vegetables, carrots, peas, sweet potatoes, sunflower seeds, lentils, avocados, fish, and meat.
5. Bleeding gums
Sensitive gums indicate a lack of vitamin C, which is an antioxidant and is required for at least 300 metabolic functions in the body. It helps in creating the anti-stress hormone, interferon, required in the production of collagen.
It is found in green vegetables, avocados, broccoli, cantaloupe, mangoes, onions, pineapple, spinach, strawberries, tomatoes…
6. Hard pimples on top of thighs and arms
This occurs due to lack of vitamin E. This vitamin helps in circulation, normal blood clotting, and blood pressure and improves the production of sperm.
More often consume dark green leafy vegetables, nuts, grains, eggs, milk, soybeans, and sweet potatoes.
7. Common inflammation of throat and respiratory system
Inflammation may be caused by a deficiency of vitamin A, necessary for good sight.
Foods recommended: fish oil, red and yellow fruits and vegetables such as broccoli, carrots, pumpkin, red peppers, apricots, papaya, peaches, spinach.
